I get by with a little help from my friends

This time of year, many of us get reflective. I’m that way, too especially during these last few weeks.

We’ve been frantically trying to get things done at the winery while getting ready for OUR slow part of the year, and WE’VE had to call in FOR BACK-UP. It’s nice to know that we’ve got folks WHO ARE willing to re-arrange their schedules to help out.

We’ve also got friends who we can call on for information, for ideas and for collaborations. I’m blessed to have some very dear friends in the wine field who we can call on for that as well.

This has not been the easiest of years for many folks around the world, and we see this all the time. Near and far, it’s been a year to be kind to one another and be there to lend a hand as we can …

We’re bringing out our fall/winter wines right now, and Fezziwig’s is the perfect example of a great friendship and spirit of camaraderie. This year’s batch is a joint effort with O’Farrell Country Vineyards, with their incredible red muscadine wine and our spices and recipe. Lots of laughter was involved in the production, and I think it comes through in every sip.

The Candied Apple is also a labor of love. It was a wonderful afternoon of merriment that we couldn’t have done without our dear Saturday Boy or Glitter Girl.

Winter Peach, apple, and blackberry meads are ready; Sugar Plum Fairy is sitting in the wings and the “holiday trio” is on the way. So, as we enter the days of retrospection, raise a glass to those who mean something to you: Friends, family near and far, those who have passed and those who touched us while passing through.

Make the ancestors look at you and smile, and be blessed.
