Spring into wine!

We’re getting into the busy time of the year here at Maydelle. We’ve got festivals lined up just about every weekend from the middle of March through May, as well as farmers markets and other events. We may not do much “big stuff” here at the winery, but we’re on the road a lot.

We’ve gotten back into the Dallas Farmers Market as well as being a fixture in the Nacogdoches one, and we love them. The people we meet there are great, plus we get easy access to wonderful goodies by being there.

We get asked a lot if we have anything to do at the winery. Well, yes…work. đŸ˜€ But really, other than the tasting room, we don’t have much to offer in the way of other bigger wineries. We don’t have live music, food or events because we’re really just to small. We do have several things that are really cool around us. In Maydelle, we’ve got the Maydelle General Store that has taken up cooking, and they do it great. We’ve got the Old Farmhouse Pottery a few miles the other side of town where Mr. Hendley makes beautiful pieces. In Rusk, there’s a museum, “America’s longest footbridge”, and several restaurants in town. We’re also near Jacksonville and Palestine, which have even more things to see and do. Oh, let’s not forget we’re surrounded by ID Fairchild State Forest.

But even with all that said, we love the fact that we get to take this time of the year and hit the roads to wonderful places around Texas. So keep your eyes open at the different wine festivals and events coming up in your area, you’re quite likely to see the folks in tie dye running around. We’ll be happy to see you.

Oh, and don’t forget we do have a wine club that we’re trying to actively start and we can ship to a lot of places. So if we’re not near you, you can still bring us into your home.
